Smelly, Homeless Man Came To Church - Who He Really Was Put Everyone To Shame

Never judge anyone based on how they look. Ever. They say you should practice what you preach - whether you are Christian or not, this is an amazing example of practicing the fundamental acts of kindness and love that any good person would say they believe in. The story goes, like this...

A Pastor transformed himself into a homeless person and went to the 10,000 + member church that he was to be introduced as the head pastor at that morning. (understand this was replicate several time in different venues and branches of the same religion and or philosophy ( Jewish, Christian, & Muslim ) herein as per example we will checkout the Christian presentation ) He walked around in one of his soon to be church, temple, tabernacle etc. for 30 minutes while it was filling with people for service, only 3 people out of the 7 - 10,000 people present, said "Hello!," to him. He asked people for spare, change to buy food - no one in the church gave him change.

He went into the sanctuary to sit down in the front of the church and was asked by the ushers, if he would please sit in the back. He greeted people, ONLY to be greeted back with stares, dirty looks, and people looking down on him. As he sat in the back of the church, he listened to the church announcements and such. When all that was done, the church elders went up and were excited to introduce the new pastor of the church to the congregation. 'We would like to introduce to you our new Pastor.' The congregation looked around clapping with joy and anticipation. The homeless man sitting in the back, stood up and started walking down the aisle. The clapping stopped with all eyes on him. he was a man of the cloth that visited the holiest of Holy Sites around the world, where on prayer is worth 100,000 prayers, elsewhere. He confidentially, walked up the altar and took the microphone from the elders ( who were in on this ) and paused for a moment of reflection, then he recited...

"'Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.'"

"'For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'"

"'Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry, and we feed you, or thirsty and we give you, drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'" "'The King will reply, "'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'"

After he recited this, he looked towards the congregation and told them all what he had experienced that morning. Many began to cry, and many heads were bowed in shame. He then said, "'Today I see a gathering of people, not a church of Jesus Christ. The world has enough people, but not enough disciples. When will YOU decide to become disciples?'" He then dismissed service, until next week.

WOW. This pastor is incredibly wise and his actions really hit home. We can't verify the authenticity of this story ( Snopes gives it a 'mixed' rating ) but take the principles of this story. Going to church doesn't make you a good person. Following what you believe does. And you don't need a church to believe.

Afterwards, during his reception and introduction to the congregation as they were leaving the service, to those who would listen -- he told his story...
He told then he had a stroke was clinically dead for at least two days but he was resurrected because he had something of germane importance, to do.

She Buys Homeless Man Meal & Sits with Him. He Hands Her Crumpled Note Before Leaving

In the mid-90s, Joan Osborne released a hit song called “What If God Was One of Us.” It was a top 40 hit and nominated for three Grammy awards.

The song and music video pushed listeners to change their world view. With lyrics like, “What if God was one of us? Just a slob like one of us? Just a stranger on the bus, tryin’ to make his way home.”

Or what if that stranger was a homeless man you saw on the street? And how you viewed or treated them could result in something life-changing?

That’s exactly what happened to a young woman named Casey Fischer
The homeless man went inside the Dunkin’ Donuts and looked into the garbage cans. he then went outside to try and hustle some spare change.

Fischer was at Dunkin’ Donuts when she saw a homeless man on the side of the road picking up change, and asking for spare change from the passerbys. He eventually went inside and started to count his money.

She started talking to the man, much to his annoyance. She noticed he only had about $1.00 in change in his hand, so she decided to buy him a coffee and a toasted, and buttered, bagel out of her own pocket.

In doing so, she asked the man to sit down with her. He obliged

Fischer found out during their time at Dunkin’ that the man’s name was Chris. He talked about how people were usually cruel to him “because he was homeless.”

He also confessed to Fischer how drugs and alcohol, had “turned him into the person he hated.” Even after his mother’s death to cancer, he ultimately just wanted to be a “person she could be proud of.”

Fischer said the two of them chatted for well over an hour or two, before she realized she needed to get back to class or work. That’s when he told her to wait.

Chris wrote something on a crumpled up receipt before the two of them parted ways. When he handed it to her, he apologized for his “shaky hand writing,” then smiled before walking out.

When she opened the note, that’s when she realized what had just happened was something much greater than just a bagel and coffee. Something greater than a friendly conversation, “I wanted to kill myself today,” the note read. “…because of you, I now do not. Thank you, beautiful person.”

What if God was one of us? Or what if God was working through us, leading us to someone to save?

Would you listen?

I’m certainly going to look at the world with new eyes now. A small gesture can change a person’s life… or save it.
